With the current economic outlook looking pretty bleak for most, I decided to crack out Google Trends and take a look at what trends are occurring and what people are searching for.
In this blog post I will show you:
- A Niche ready to Attack
- Affiliate offers you can promote
- Countries you can target
- A couple affiliate strategies you can deploy
When events happen on a Global scale, opportunity arises.
This is not a new niche.
It’s a subniche of the Solar Energy Niche.
More and more people are currently searching for ways to reduce their energy bills.
And they are turning to solar power.
This is a niche that is gathering pace.
It’s Solar Panels.
And if you target the the UK, you can really make a killing.
Solar Panel Installation industry has grown by £592.8m (approx $700M) in 2022 alone.
Remember, that’s just to install panels….NOT the entire market.
And at the moment, it’s still very early days.
And you can target the UK from anywhere in the world…wherever you are.
It’s not just in the UK that Solar Panels are gathering pace, it’s a lot of other countries too.
There’s a ton of opportunity.
Let’s look at Solar Panel Niche Potential…
Take a look this graph in Google trends for the past 30 days:
At the moment, on a 30 day window, it doesn’t look like anything much to speak of.
There was a bit of a peak, but it looks like it’s gone pretty flat after that.
Or has it?…
Let’s take a look at the past 90 days…
Just looking at this niche in a couple of screenshots looks very interesting to me.
In fact, if I didn’t have as much as I do on my plate, I’d be making moves on it.
Or at the very least giving it serious thought.
But it get’s better…

That’s why you’ve got to be FAST.
If I’ve spotted it…you can bet your life other affiliates have too.
Or they at least won’t be far behind.
I like the five year timeframe on Google trends because it paints the FULL picture about what is happening within a niche.
And occasionally you see super hot breakouts like this.
If you’re stuck for a niche, this would be a good one to go after.
Remember, this was just for the UK.

- Germany
- South Africa
- Ireland
But based on my research the United Kingdom & Ireland are exploding.

How to target the Solar Panel Niche…
I’m talking about Keywords.
It’s all well and good catching a niche in it’s early stage breakout.
But it needs to be targetable.
And if it’s targetable, then you can ride this wave for everything it has.
For this I’m going to crack out the Ubersuggest keyword research tool.
Usually I would use Semrush, but Semrush is a bit on the pricey side for most and Ubersuggest is free and has come a long way and it will do the job for most.
I did a quick search with Ubersuggest and found 13 keywords with a combined 20,000+ searches per month with a very good CPC (cost per click).
I organised them into a list:

Something interesting happened when I I look into the keywords.
Can you spot it?..
I stumbled across a Niche within the Solar Panels niche.
Solar Panels for Camping / Campers seems really popular!
I hadn’t even considered this before I opened the keyword tool.
Where to get traffic?
Microsoft Ads (Target the UK only)
This niche I think would work really well with Microsoft Ads and the clicks (CPC) would probably be even less than what you see above.
Microsoft ads generally target older and often wealthier people, so Solar Panels is an affiliate niche that would work well.
Microsoft is going to work best for targeting the United Kingdom only.
The thing to keep in mind, is that Microsoft has a much smaller traffic share compared to Google, so it may not work so well for some of the other countries I mentioned above.
Google Ads
Google ads would be best for targeting the countries I mentioned, as google will have a enough traffic volume to make it worth while.
REMEMBER: You can target any country you like from anywhere in the world.
But if you want to target the UK make sure you specify United Kingdom in the Ad manager.
I would suggest turning OFF mobile targeting for BOTH networks.
Youtube Ads
Video Placement targeting would be the best option for this Niche.
What is Youtube Video Placement Targeting?
This is where you can find relevant high traffic videos on Youtube that you can place Ads on.
The trick here, is that they need to be videos that have a LOT of view or are trending. (this is the tool I use for this).
Solar panels are the sort of thing that people would naturally use youtube for more information or to get more info about a certain brand they might be interested in.
I dug into the tool to research the potential on Youtube and this is what I found:
Here’s how to find Good videos to place Ads on…
Open the tool and click the videos tab.
Then do this:
The important thing here to make sure you sort by “view count”.
And make sure both Google and Bing (Microsoft) are selected.
What will happen is it will pull back a whole bunch of videos.
In my case, it returned me 141 videos.
But you can’t see them all in this shot:
These are all videos you can add into the Youtube Ad placement planner with Ads pointing to Affiliate offers.
More on affiliate offers for this niche in a moment.
Now there’s only 1 column I’m interested in.
And that’s daily view count.
I don’t want to target videos that aren’t getting enough views views.
And I also don’t want to target videos that are getting too many.
Too many views means you’ll pay a lot of money to target those videos and you’ll be competing with big brands.
Stay within 1,000 – 5,000 DAILY views.
As you can see here:
You don’t need to worry about what date the video was published.
All we care about are views and eyeballs because that means CLICKS.
And CLICKS mean SALES!.
Affiliate Offers In The Solar Panels Niche:
Now all we need are offers we can promote as an affiliate for a commission.
Luckily there are quite a few of them.
Below are a couple of them:
Sun Store Affiliate Program
These guys have a pretty bad 5% commission.
But they have products that are high end, with some of them $10K+.
Go Green Affiliate Program
These guys have a great affiliate program with a very good payout.
Up to $400.
In some cases $500 PER referral as seen below:
And finally my favourite.
Clickbank have a great Solar Energy product…

Clickbank will never be beaten for profit margin in your pocket.
Most of you know I love clickbank because they have some great digital products.
Which means less overheads = more commissions!
This one has everything I would look for in a good product to sell.
Only issue is the gravity is a little bit on the low side.
But due to the trends we saw earlier in the UK and Ireland, this one is worth a shot because as more and more affiliates jump on this (and they will) the gravity will rise naturally.
So there you have it…
