So recently my inbox has been swamped with newsletters, I’m talking loads, 19,908 to be exact:
Yup.
You read that right over NINETEEN THOUSAND.
So a clear-out was long overdue.
I usually do this twice a year, I have a purge.
An evaluation.
I haven’t done one in a long time, but this week I did.
I won’t tell you which ones I nuked because it isn’t my style to sh*t on someone else’s business and in all fairness, their newsletter might be interesting to someone else, it just wasn’t interesting to me.
“One mans trash is another mans treasure” …and all that.
So, before I tell you which newsletters I kept. (Keep in mind I unsubscribed from 23!)
I want to tell you what my criteria is for keeping one:
- Do I learn something new each time I open it?
- Is it significantly different to every other newsletter out there?
- Have I opened at least 4 in the last month?
- Am I entertained?
That’s it.
That’s my criteria.
So here are all the newsletter I’ve kept that made the grade:

Not a lot to say here…if you even slightly care about email marketing and sending emails then just get on his list.
Everyday is a masterclass by arguably the best email guy still living and breathing.
You’ll learn more about email marketing just by being on his list than any $5K course on the subject.

Doberman Dan’s “Off The Chain” Newsletter
Again, like Ben Settle a few mentions above, this guy is direct and he will offend. But he’s smart.
Anything goes – No holds barred marketing goodness.

His “Off The Chain” Podcast is worth a listen to, he killed it off but you can still find all his archives, just do a Google search for “Off The Chain Podcast“.
Special mentions:
The following newsletters are more industry specific ‘digests’.
Only subscribe to these ones if you can handle a lot of email.
You might want to create a special filter for these ones below, because they both send an overwhelming amount of content.
